NRA Basic Instructor Training

Course cost: $105.00 each participant, with five student minimum
Course Length: Six to eight hours, all classroom time.

Course Goals: To develop NRA Certified Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to CONDUCT the NRA Basic Firearms Training Courses

Student Text: The NRA Trainer's Guide for use with the NRA Training Courses.

Course Lessons: Topics and approximate times:
  • Opening Exercise: How to Intruduce a Speaker (30-45 min)
  1. The Instructor and the NRA Basic Firearm Training Program (60 to 75 min)
  2. Using a Training Team (60 to 75 min)
  3. Training Materials and Training Aids (60 to 75 min)
  4. Organizing Your Course (60 to 75 min)
  5. Preparing to Teach (60 to 75 min)
Pre- requisites:
  1. Pre-course Questionnaire
  2. Pre-course Assessment
  3. $60.00 non-refundable pre-registration fee (deduct from total fee when you attend class-this is required to partially cover the NRA and other materials).
  4. You must be legally able to own firearms

What to bring:

A safe attitude; a desire to learn, an open mind, writing materials, all NRA course completion certificates you hold, NRA membership number.

What I will provide:

NRA Trainers Guide; three-ring binders, various learning and training aids; multiple handouts, Enthusiasm and a safe learning environment.

NOTE: This class is the first class in the NRA Basic Firearms Instructor Series. This class is required before you proceed with your NRA instructor program. All other instructor classes build on the program materials presented in this class.
